A Lifetime Passion for Photography
Hi, I’m Jonathan Tennant, and I've been passionate about photography for over 30 years. My journey began in my teenage years when I borrowed my dad's Ilford Sportsman camera—a piece of equipment I still cherish today. My Early Photography Journey At 17, I became one of the youngest members of the Richmond and Twickenham Photographic Society, where I refined my skills in both studio and darkroom techniques. It was here that I developed a strong love for black-and-white photography and began focusing on portrait photography, a style I continue to embrace in my work today. Professional Social Photography At 23, I took the leap into professional social photography with Functions Photographic in Teddington. Specializing in private events, parties, and functions, I often set up a mobile studio to capture guests as they arrived. My workflow included processing and printing images on-site, providing clients with quick access to high-quality prints. This hands-on experience eventually led me to explore wedding photography, where I blended formal portraits with relaxed, reportage-style black-and-white shots—a style that was innovative at the time. A Global Career in Photography Over the last three decades, my photography has taken me across the globe. My work has been featured in editorial publications such as magazines and newspapers, as well as advertising campaigns. I owe much of my success to my trusted agents, Alamy and APL, who have played a key role in connecting me with opportunities worldwide. Weddings and Beyond I’ve been fortunate to serve as the official wedding photographer for Channel 4’s hit TV show "Wedding House". Today, I specialize in wedding photography, but also offer a range of services, including boudoir photography, corporate headshots, portrait sessions, and event photography. My mobile studio allows me to shoot on location, and my main studio at Sunset Cottage offers 1,000 square feet of indoor space, as well as an acre of private gardens—perfect for creating beautiful, diverse photography sessions. Drone Photography and Videography As a CAA-licensed drone pilot, I’m also able to provide stunning aerial photography and videography services. From private homes and commercial properties to factories and construction sites, my drone photography captures breathtaking perspectives. Beyond Photography When I’m not behind the camera, I’m passionate about DIY projects, cars, and fitness. I’ve even competed in several triathlons, including Ironman UK. Serving Clients Across Surrey, Berkshire, and London I’m proud to serve clients throughout Surrey, including Weybridge, Staines, Esher, Reigate, Dorking, Epsom, Cobham, Woking, Sunbury, and Egham. My work also extends to clients in Berkshire, including Windsor, Sunningdale, Ascot, Bracknell, Marlow, Maidenhead, and Henley-on-Thames. In London, I’ve had the privilege of working in Putney, Fulham, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Kensington, and Battersea. No matter where you’re located, I’m here to help bring your photography vision to life. Contact me today to discuss your needs and see how I can assist you!
