Day one of the corporate headshot and portrait photography session at the British headquarters of Pure Storage in Staines set the tone for what would be a fast-paced, energetic, and genuinely enjoyable shoot. Pure Storage is a US-based, multi-billion-dollar technology company with offices worldwide, and the scale and professionalism of the organisation were reflected in every aspect of the photography brief.

As a corporate headshot photographer working with global companies, my role was to create images that would work across multiple platforms — from LinkedIn profiles and internal communications to press releases, conferences, and marketing materials — while still capturing the personality of each individual..

Day one of a Fast-Paced Corporate Photography Shoot

This was day one of the shoot, and the schedule was tight by design. Each staff member was allocated seven minutes per session, a structure that required efficiency, focus, and a well-rehearsed workflow. While seven minutes may sound brief, it’s often the ideal window for modern corporate photography — long enough to capture a variety of strong images, but short enough to keep energy levels high and expressions natural.

Careful planning meant that every session flowed smoothly, allowing us to consistently deliver both professional corporate headshots and more relaxed business portraits without compromising on quality.

Creating Relaxed, Authentic Corporate Headshots

One of the most important elements of successful business headshot photography is helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera. Many professionals don’t enjoy being photographed, and some arrive convinced they will never like their image. Creating a relaxed, friendly environment is key — and it makes all the difference.

The Pure Storage team were a pleasure to photograph. The sessions were genuinely great fun, with plenty of conversation and laughter. Even the most self-described “grumpy” participant ended up giving that magical, natural smile that transforms a good headshot into a great one. The headshots were clean, modern, and consistent — designed to present a unified brand image across a global organisation.Alongside these, we created more expressive portraits that allowed individual personalities to come through. Some members of the team were exceptionally confident in front of the camera, instinctively understanding posture, movement, and expression. With those subjects, the shoot naturally shifted into something more dynamic, producing portraits that felt closer to a fashion or editorial shoot, while still remaining polished and professional.These images add depth to a company’s visual identity and are ideal for leadership profiles, speaking engagements, and feature content.
