Italian Cars, Spring Sunshine & Automotive Passion Last weekend I attended the hugely popular Italian Day event at Brooklands Museum, one of the UK’s best automotive heritage venues and a perfect setting for a celebration of classic and modern Italian cars. With warm spring sunshine and clear blue skies, the event attracted car enthusiasts, collectors, photographers, and families from across the country. The atmosphere was relaxed and vibrant, with an incredible display of Italian automotive engineering ranging from classic Fiat 500s to iconic Lancia Delta Integrale rally cars and stunning Lamborghini supercars. As a car photographer, events like this are a fantastic opportunity to capture the character, styling, and detail that make Italian cars so special. Every area of the museum offered something different — from beautifully restored classics and rare performance cars to colourful club displays and owners proudly sharing their vehicles. 6 One of the standout moments of the day was the demonstration parade on the Mercedes-Benz World test track. Seeing these cars in motion added another dimension to the event, with the sound of Italian engines echoing around the circuit while spectators lined the trackside to watch everything from classic Fiats to high-performance Lamborghinis. The variety on display was remarkable. Small, characterful Fiat 500s sat alongside aggressive rally-inspired Lancias and exotic supercars, showcasing the diversity of Italian automotive design and engineering across the decades. For automotive photography, the sunny spring weather created ideal conditions, highlighting the curves, paintwork, and details of these incredible vehicles. Brooklands Museum continues to be one of the best UK locations for photographing classic and performance cars thanks to its rich motoring history and unique atmosphere.
